Work delivered
Matter roadmaps were revised into smaller linked tasks, with process schedules, resources and training.
Roadmap migration and client testing formed part of the work. Platform issues needed attention during delivery, and no quantified productivity result is claimed.
One task was carrying too much
The practice had matter roadmaps, but some tasks bundled together several activities. The revision focused on separating those activities so the work could be followed step by step.
NewLaw worked on the task structure alongside the resources, cost-capture steps and precedents attached to it. Splitting a task without bringing its supporting material with it would have left the team with another list to interpret.
Put the supporting material beside the task
The engagement produced roadmap documents and task and process schedules, with training for the team. Further work revised the larger tasks into linked steps and addressed the associated resource links.
The revised roadmaps were migrated and tested with the client. Testing mattered because an agreed process on paper still had to behave correctly inside the platform.
The practical lesson
When a task contains several handovers, break it down where responsibility changes. Keep the resource or precedent beside the step that needs it.
