Implementation and aftercare

Billing work after changeover

The platform move continued into the work of billing: reviewing WIP and disbursements, agreeing a write-off process and refining invoice templates.

Live changeover supported

The firm went live on Actionstep. Post-live work addressed billing processes, reporting differences and invoice templates.

A historical implementation and aftercare account. Reconciliation work required follow-up, and full closure of the exception list is not established.

Follow the change into daily work

NewLaw supported a practice-system changeover that reached go-live. The early support work included reviewing work-in-progress and disbursement differences and agreeing how write-offs would be handled.

Invoice templates were also refined. These were operational details the team had to work through once the new system was in use.

Keep the exceptions visible

Aftercare covered the financial tasks the practice needed to perform in the new system. Differences requiring reconciliation remained items to follow through, alongside the work on write-offs and invoice templates.

The practical lesson

Include billing scenarios in changeover testing, then keep a clear list of exceptions through aftercare.
